#GivingTuesday 2022

Dear Friends,

This Tuesday, November 29, is Giving Tuesday, a global day of generosity. Giving Tuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past ten years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

As in past years, Ripple Effect Project is joining Giving Tuesday. Unlike previous years, the stakes couldn’t be higher.

This past year has presented a number of unexpected challenges to our friends at the Korando Education Center, from increased educational fees to unplanned medical expenses. At the same time, our funds have never been lower. These unexpected challenges have forced us to question which financial obligations we can meet—and whether we can meet our monthly commitments.

We know that economic uncertainty and rising prices are causing us all to tighten our budgets. The same is true for our friends at Korando—which is why your support means more now than ever.

Giving Tuesday is an opportunity for people around the world to come together to thank, help, give, show kindness, and share what they have with those in need. The Ripple Effect Project community has shown that generosity to our friends at the Korando Center time and again this year, allowing us to meet so many challenges—from basic food insecurity to the coronavirus pandemic, from emergency medical expenses to changing educational needs. Our community has always been there to support our friends in Kisumu, and they are once again asking for our help.

Kindly,

Joshua Sammon

President, Ripple Effect Project
